Thermocutters easily and efficiently cut a wide range of materials from Thermoplastics to synthetic fabrics. The tools electrically heated blades are designed to provide easy and effortless cutting. 120 and 220 volt models are available; the model ZTS-20 is a small hand-held tool designed for non-continuous cutting. Adjustable temperature control settings provide precise temperatures required for the material you are cutting. Ideal for degating and trimming applications, unmatched in cutting foam, Cuts and seals the edges on synthetic fabrics with a minimum of smoke and no burned edges. Thermocutters are especially good for white fabrics where burned edges would detract from the finished product. Thermocutters are excellent for cutting webbing, vinyl, ropes, cords, ribbon, etc. Comes with one T3/30mm blade, hex wrench, wire brush and instructions, see our wide assortment of blades for various applications.
Here is a quick note on duty cycle
The ZTS20 thermocutter is for non-continuous duty cycles. When making cuts with the ZTS20, the duty cycle is 50-50; for instance, if you are making a cut that takes 45 seconds, the tool should be off for 45 seconds in between cuts to allow for cooling. However, if you are using a blade that is very large or thick (i.e. T103 or T015 blades), the tool will heat up much faster due to the extra mass of the blade. It is important to use a blade that is suited to the job; bigger is not necessarily better in this case.
